Axon Enterprise Inc (NASDAQ:AAXN) announced recently that Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) has acquired about 1,060 pieces of 400-Axon body and in-car camera devices. The purchase order was received in the first quarter of the year and the items will be shipped in various phases.
At the same time, Axon has also received a purchase order of the 400 Axon Body 2 camera devices. The order was placed in the fourth quarter of 2017 and the shipping will continue through the first quarter of 2018. Since the police agency started to equip its officers with Axon Body 2 cameras in 2015, more than 7,000 cameras have been supplied by Axon, according to Evidence.com.
According to Eddie Johnson Chicago’s Police Superintendent, the body-worn cameras will help the agency to significantly increase the public safety and accountability in the entire city. Furthermore, the integration of the body camera footage on the cloud platform would simply the process of obtaining the truth of the matter quickly and efficiently.

The police officers will have the ability to independently manage data, enabling them to spend less time at their offices and more dedication to the community services.
Axon Enterprise has continued to expand its Taser and body camera ventures particularly in the fourth quarter of 2017. The company expects to report positive financial results this year especially with the launch of new products and services including the in-car cameras, a records management system, and a smart holster for weapons that would likely fuel the firm’s growth.
According to the management, Axon Enterprise is focused on growth of its business and with new products expected this year; the company could improve its earnings.
